Thursday I visited my local thrift store and got all sorts of goodies – jeans, shirts, dresses, even a silver bowl for my jewelry. One of my favorite finds was this paisley print shirt. Though it was two sizes too big for me (1x), I saw potential…and the fact that it was 1/2 price day made it even better – it was only $2.00! I know what you’re thinking (maybe)…”That shirt is ugly!” lol. Well, that is ok because you don’t have to wear it haha!
I took some shots of it so you can see the differences in how it started and what I did. I had to take it in on the sides and the sleeves, then I made shoulder cutouts. It was about a 2 hour project from start to finish…though I know it would have been faster if I knew how to use my sewing machine rather than doing it all by hand *sigh*. I love it, but what do you think??
Before

I love it! It reminds me of a 70s era type..but I love how you did the sleeves and put it with a belt and skirt. Looks fabulous, and even better knowing you didn’t spend $100 on an outfit!
I know…I love how retro the print is!
And yes maam, that outfit (skirt, belt, and shirt) was probably $15 total lol
Looks great.
thanks!!
I love this! You totally updated and made fabulous a shirt that most people pass up because they don’t have the creativity and imagination.
thank you!
Latoya, you are sooo cute!! I love this outfit! You have indeed inspired me!
thanks Lindsey!
